I dont know too much about the x so far, but if the struts would fit, the seller would surely write it into his add.
What he does write is: "picture similar to item".
So, the only way to find out if the parts will fit is asking the guy..
If they fit, I think they would be better than oil-filled
shock-absorbers.
By the way, some of the people on this forum are trying to order a complete "sport-suspension" in England. Try the "Suchen"- search (Koni, Fahrwerk, Stossdämpfer)

I understand. I was curious if this inexpensive, existing strut was compatible.

I did post to the KONI thread and know of a number of people in the US which are interested in finding new KONIs.

One project I am going to be working on this winter is fabricating larger diameter strut tubes in which to fit adjustable KONIs from a different application.

Last winter I got together with a Mazda Rx-7 friend and found that the early RX-7 Konis are almost the correct size, they are the correct diameter, but ~6mm too tall. They do fit in a FIAT 128 strut tube though!

about finding new konis you might want to contact the french x1/9 club. As fas as I know they are organizing something.

Some people here in germany are currently evaluating the possibility to get a custom height adjustable suspension developed which gets approval by our technical inspection agency (TÜV). You might want to look here or maybe ask Ulix

BTW, Babelfish sucks, it translated "struts" into something like "spreads" or "spreaders". If you hadn't included the english text, I would have had no clue as to what you were talking about

I am pretty sure the Uno struts don't fit the X. If they did, we would know about it. There are a couple of different Fiat/Lancia struts that look similar but are different.

The story on the Konis is the same as in the US, Koni says they will make some if we order a large number.
The other suspension the guys were talking about is a complete coil-over setup that a supplier is in the process of building for the X, initiated by a guy here on the forum. I think you can make a coil-over setup cheaper and easier in the States, this one is interesting because it comes with the necessary papers to make it legal here in Germany.

It's good to hear that you are looking into other sources for X struts. While you are at it, could you please find some alternative strut top mounts from another car that fits the X?
